Our Communication Standards

THE TITLE AGENCY will never:

• Send wiring instructions via unsecured or unverified email
• Change wiring instructions without direct verbal confirmation
• Request urgent or last-minute changes to payment instructions via email

How to Verify Wiring Instructions

Before sending any funds:

1. Call our office directly using a verified phone number
   • Do not use phone numbers provided in emails or messages
2. Confirm wiring instructions verbally with your escrow officer
3. Verify the timing and purpose of the wire

Never rely solely on emailed instructions.

Red Flags to Watch For

Be cautious of:

• Last-minute changes to wiring instructions
• Emails with altered or unfamiliar sender addresses
• Requests for secrecy or urgency
• Messages that differ from prior communication patterns

Fraudsters often impersonate real estate professionals, lenders, or escrow teams.

If You Suspect Fraud

Act immediately:

1. Contact your bank and request a wire recall
2. Contact THE TITLE AGENCY directly
3. Report the incident to law enforcement or the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
